Wojciech Kopczuk holds a BA in Economics and an MSc in Computer Science from Warsaw University, and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan. Currently he is Professor of Economics and International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.

His research focus is on issues related to tax policy and income and wealth inequality. His papers have been published in Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies and American Economic Review, and other journals.

He is a co-editor of the Journal of Public Economics and associate editor of the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy.

Noticeable distinctions: He has served for the Research Council of Norway and of Canada.
