Iván Werning, an Argentine economist, earned is PhD at the University of Chicago in 2002. He is now Robert M. Solow Professor at the MIT Department of Economics.
He has written key articles on various subjects of Macroeconomics – fiscal and monetary policies, trade, unemployment, debt, saving, etc. – published in top journals such as the Journal of Political economy, Econometrica, American Economic Review, Quaterly Journal of Economics and Review of Economics Studies.


Noticeable distinctions: Iván Werning is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of the Econometric Society and the NBER.
